(Writer, Poet) Óscar Gonzáles Alfaro, also known as Óscar Alfaro, was a Bolivian writer, poet, teacher, and journalist who focused on children's and youth literature. He studied law at Universidad Mayor de San Simón and taught Spanish and literature at various schools. Alfaro created a children's program on Radio Illimani and was part of the literary group Gesta Barbara. He was a member of the Communist Party of Bolivia, and his works often addressed social issues while capturing Bolivian customs and lifestyles. Alfaro's poems have been translated into multiple languages and some have been adapted into music.
