Chogyal Minjur Tempa began his professional life as a monk before being appointed as the first Penlop of Trongsa in 1647. He successfully led military campaigns in Eastern Bhutan, unifying the region into the Sharchog Khorlo Tsibgye. During his tenure, he oversaw the construction of several important dzongs and structures, including in Lhuentse, Trashigang, Jakar, Zhemgang, and Trongsa. Recognized for his leadership and accomplishments, he was later appointed as the second Druk Desi in 1667.
