Chencho Gyeltshen is a Bhutanese footballer who plays as a forward for the Bhutanese national football team as well as ‘Minerva Punjab FC’ club of the ‘I-League.’ With several international goals to his credit, he happens to be the best Bhutanese scorer of all times. Born and brought up in Paro District, Bhutan, he has been an ardent fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and is fondly called as ‘Ronaldo of Bhutan,’ owing to his style of playing, which is similar to the Portuguese footballer. Chencho started his football career during his early teenage years when he joined ‘Yeedzin,’ a ‘Bhutanese National League’ club. He quickly switched between teams and played for ‘Druk United F.C.’ and ‘Thimpu F.C.’ As his popularity soared further, he was invited to play in Nepal and Thailand in their domestic leagues. In August 2017, he was officially signed by ‘Minerva Punjab F.C.’ and within two weeks of his debut match in ‘I-League,’ he scored a hat-trick against ‘Bengaluru FC.’
