(Belgian Judoka) Robert Van de Walle is a retired Belgian judoka who made history as the first judoka to compete at five Olympics. He achieved significant success in his career, winning a gold medal in 1980 and a bronze in 1988. Van de Walle also secured European titles in 1980, 1985, and 1986. After retiring from competitions, he transitioned to coaching and later served as the head of the Belgian delegation at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In 2021, he was promoted to 9th dan by the International Judo Federation.
