Syed Faruque Rahman

Syed Faruque Rahman was a member of the 1st Bengal Lancers Regiment of the Bangladesh Army. He played a significant role in toppling the Sheikh Mujib regime in Bangladesh through a coup. Rahman was convicted and hanged for his involvement in the murder of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder and first president of Bangladesh. Along with his co-conspirators, he orchestrated the assassination of Sheikh Mujib in 1975 and was a key organizer in the coup that led to the installation of Khondaker Mushtaque Ahmed as president of Bangladesh.
