Iajuddin Ahmed

Iajuddin Ahmed had an illustrious professional career in Bangladesh, starting with a doctorate in soil science. He achieved the rank of full professor and department chairman at the University of Dhaka. Ahmed held significant public roles, such as chairman of the Public Service Commission and University Grants Commission. He was elected as the President of Bangladesh in 2002 and served until 2009. Additionally, during his presidency, he also acted as the Chief Advisor of the caretaker government and supervised the Defense Ministry. Ahmed played a crucial part in the establishment of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology in 2004.
