Jack Brabham

Jack Brabham, an Australian racing driver, founded the Brabham racing team and car constructor. He started his racing career with midget cars in Australia and New Zealand before relocating to Britain to enhance his success. Brabham was a key member of the Cooper Car Company's racing team and played a role in designing mid-engined cars for Formula One. In 1962, he partnered with Ron Tauranac to establish the Brabham marque, which became a prominent manufacturer of custom racing cars. Brabham clinched the Formula One world championship in 1959, 1960, and 1966, the latter victory achieved while driving one of his own cars.
