Anna Chicherova is a Russian high jumper who won the gold medal at 2012 London Olympics. She also won the gold medal at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics and a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Apart from this she won a silver medal at the 2007 and 2009 World Championships and a bronze medal at the 2013 World Championship. Anna was focused on her athletic career since childhood days. She won her first major title, World Youth Championships, held in Bydgoszcz, at the age of 16. Right after that, she won several major titles such as, the European Junior Championships, Universiade, and the World Indoor Championships. She was the Russian High Jump Champion for six consecutive years and was also a leading name in athletics for several years, until she missed the 2010 season due to her pregnancy. However, she soon made her come back and once again established herself as the world’s leading female high jumper in the 2011 season. She achieved her personal best jump and the Russian national record of 2.07 metres on her 29th birthday, at the Russian track and field Championships
