Tiridates III, also known as Tiridates the Great or Tiridates IV, ruled as the Armenian Arsacid king from around 298 to 330. In the early 4th century, circa 301, he proclaimed Christianity as the official state religion of Armenia, making it the first state to do so officially. Tiridates III played a crucial part in introducing and advancing Christianity within the kingdom, shaping the religious history of Armenia significantly.
