Description:
(King)
Tigranes the Great, a king of Armenia, significantly expanded his kingdom by annexing Roman and Parthian territories, forming strategic alliances and establishing a new capital, Tigranocerta. His empire stretched from the Pontic Alps to Mesopotamia, the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean, and even reached the Red Sea and Persian Gulf. Despite facing defeats against Roman forces, he eventually ruled Armenia as a Roman client-king until his death.
