John Thomas Hashian, best known as Sib Hashian, was an American musician best recognized for playing drums for the rock band Boston. He began his career in 1975 as a replacement to Boston’s original drummer Jim Masdea and went on to record all of the drum parts on the band’s self-titled debut studio album except for one track. He also performed on the follow up album ‘Don't Look Back.’ Most of the songs in this album were note-for-note transcriptions of Jim Masdea's original drum arrangements. Hashian had also worked as an actor during his lifetime; his most notable works include the play ‘9-Ball’. He even co-hosted a local TV show in New England titled Scorch's PFG-TV. On a personal note, he was a married man and the father of three children, including singer-songwriter Lauren Hashian and songwriter Aja Hashian. In March 2017, the American musician died while performing on a cruise; he was 67. Although his journey on this earth has ended, Hashian will always be remembered for his music and charming personality.
