Sundar Pichai is a computer engineer and the current CEO of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. The technology giant, which specializes in internet-related services and products, underwent a major corporate restructuring in 2015. Following this restructuring, Alphabet Inc. was launched as the parent company, with Google becoming its largest subsidiary. Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google's co-founders, initially served as Alphabet's CEO and President, respectively. In December 2019, Sundar Pichai assumed the role of CEO for both Google and Alphabet Inc. Pichai joined Google in 2004, as a product manager and played a pivotal role in the development and success of several products, including Google Chrome and Chrome OS. These innovations became highly successful and solidified Google's dominance in the browser market. Over time, Pichai took over the management of other key Google products, such as Gmail and Google Drive, and rose rapidly through the ranks to become a trusted leader within the company. Born in Chennai, India, Pichai demonstrated exceptional intellect and creativity from a young age. He pursued his education at some of the world's most prestigious institutions, earning a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Google, he worked in engineering and product management at Applied Materials and later in management consulting at McKinsey & Company. Pichai is highly regarded by his colleagues and is often referred to as the "man behind Google’s most important products."
