(Algerian Writer and Martyr) Mouloud Feraoun, an Algerian writer, is known for his works portraying the lives of Berber mountain farmers, poverty, love for their homeland, emigration, and the impact of French colonialism. He primarily wrote in French, and some of his books have been translated into various languages. Feraoun corresponded with the renowned author Albert Camus and was recognized posthumously for his literary contributions and as a martyr of the Algerian revolution. French President Emmanuel Macron honored Feraoun and other victims of the OAS in a ceremony in Algiers in 2022.
