He allied with the Romans, uniting eastern and western Numidian tribes to establish the Kingdom of Numidia. His crucial role in the Battle of Zama contributed to Carthage's defeat, sparking the Third Punic War and leading to Carthage's destruction. Masinissa's unwavering support for Rome and strong leadership made Numidia the dominant power in northwest Africa. He ruled for 54 years until his death.
