Zog of Albania

Zog I, also known as Ahmed Zogu, was a key figure in Albanian politics from 1922 to 1939. He served in different ministerial roles before ascending to the positions of Prime Minister, President, and later King of Albania. Zog implemented notable domestic reforms, restricted civil liberties, and established ties with Italy. Despite his attempts to counter Italian dominance, Albania succumbed to Italian rule in 1939. After the invasion, Zog resided in exile in England and France until his passing in 1961.
