(Poet) Gjergj Fishta was a notable Albanian Franciscan friar, poet, educator, politician, translator, and writer. He is best known for his epic masterpiece Lahuta e Malcís and for serving as the editor of respected magazines Posta e Shypniës and Hylli i Dritës. Fishta played a pivotal role in the Congress of Manastir, where he oversaw the adoption of the official Albanian alphabet. He was a member of the Albanian parliament and held influential positions in cultural and literary circles during the 1920s and 1930s, earning the moniker "Albanian Homer."
