(13th Mughal Emperor Who Reigned from 1719 to 1748) Muḥammad Shah, the thirteenth Mughal emperor, reigned from 1719 to 1748. Initially placed on the throne by the Sayyid Brothers of Barha, he later eliminated them with the help of Nizam-ul-Mulk, Asaf Jah I. Known for his patronage of the arts, he supported cultural and administrative developments. A skilled musician with the pen-name "Sadrang," his rule witnessed the rapid decline of the Mughal Empire, highlighted by Nader Shah's invasion of India and the sacking of Delhi in 1739.
