James Staley is happily retired from Acting. He is very grateful for the great adventure the Performing Arts provided him. He has been an Emmy judge the last 30 years and is active with his two sons and their families. He and his wife Barbara celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018 hiking in Italy. Favorite pursuits include two grandsons, hiking in Alaska, the Swiss Alps, the UK and a seven day trek through the Andes to Machu Picchu in Peru.

Trivia
1978, was called back with one other actor for an Illinois Bell commercial. The other actor went in first and absolutely rocked the room. Gales of laughter. James Staley then followed with his audition only to lose out to the previous actor. Three weeks later the same actor landed the role of a Space Alien on Happy Days named Mork. That other actor was Robin Williams. Two years later on the series James Staley played the Priest who married Mork & Mindy.
