He is a writer, director, producer and author, known for In Dark Places (2019), The Gone (2023), The Confessions of Prisoner T (2013), Matariki (2010), Kerosene Creek (2005), and Cow (2001). His 2022 debut novel Better The Blood was published in UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand, with 11 international translations. Michael is adapting the novel into a six-part crime thriller series.
