Kinji Fukasaku was born on 3 July 1930 in Mito, Japan. He was a director and writer, known for Batoru rowaiaru (2000), Kamata kôshinkyoku (1982) and Chûshingura gaiden: Yotsuya kaidan (1994). He was married to Sanae Nakahara. He died on 12 January 2003 in Tokyo, Japan.
Trivia
When told he had terminal cancer and only a few months to live, doctors
recommended that he remain in the hospital so he could get treatment.
Instead, he ignored their warnings because of his passion for
filmmaking and proceeded to begin directing Battle Royale II
(Batoru rowaiaru II: Chinkonka (2003)).
