He is sometimes mistaken with director Li Fu, due to the use of the alias name "Lawrence Full" and some errors in the translation of the original credits in some Western prints of some of his films. That name was first used in some Western countries as an alias for Li Fu but was then thought to be an alias for Chu Yen-Ping, as they both worked together in several films.
