Summary Lt. Sudhir, a junior officer of the Indian Army is wounded and forced to retreat with nothing but a Wireless Radio set, after his Platoon is heavily defeated is a skirmish with the Chinese Army during the 1962 Indo-China War. Unable to proceed further and stuck behind enemy lines, he tries to operate the radio, only to end up conversing with a Chinese girl, who is a radio operator for the P.L.A. Relief Force. Without understanding each other, their conversation escalates through the night. As Sudhir succumbs to his wounds, he manages to complete the last couplet of his unfinished poem, which eventually transcends the barriers of language, shedding light on the true essence of religion and humanity.
