Summary Ms Fang, an orphan who has become an Archaeology teacher, leads a group of students on a study trip to an outlying island which she has been told was her own place of birth. The island's few residents, including an old man and his retarded son, as well as an ex-cop now living as a hermit, all seem to behave strangely, and Ms Fang herself experiences disturbing visions after arriving.
