A Secret
Taxi driver, Wang Daming encounters two cheeky passengers who insult him and run off without paying. Four days later, a group of thugs led by the man pulled him into a truck, taking him to the local police station, accusing him of picking up their lost 100,000 CNY and not returning it. Wang Daming denies this vehemently and swears to god that he did not take that money. However, when he goes to the garage, he does find a tattered bag under the back seat. Inside the bag is 80,000 CNY. He hasn't seen so much money in his life. Fearful, Wang Daming hides the bag. After repeat questioning by his wife, he confesses everything. She asks him to take the money to the police, but Wang Daming tells her that he swore an oath, and even if he did take the money to the police he would be unable to explain the discrepancy of 20,000CNY. Finally, the couple decide to lock the money in the drawer and make it a permanent secret.For ten years, Wang Daming and his sick wife have kept the secret until his son Wang Cheng says he doesn't want to go to college and have to work first. There is a big fight between father and son. Wang Daming just doesn't want his son to follow his old path. He make a big decision to fulfill his father's promise to hi son...Wang Cheng finally gets into University, and soon finds a part time job which covers his living expenses. Tormented by their consciences, a decade later, husband and wife finally muster the courage to go out of the secret shadow.
