From this very unique bracket of heroes, some received a second award, 14 received 2 separate medals for different military engagements and 5 were awarded both the Navy and Army Medals of Honor for the same action.

Two time Medal of Honor recipient Daniel Daly received his first award in China on August 14, 1900 and the second for heroic deeds in Haiti on October 22, 1915 fighting insurmountable numbers in hostilities advancing forward.
