The journey of a young unknown artist who becomes a well-known painter through the encouragement of a socially frowned down-upon relationship with a beautiful elderly woman.

Romania in the year 1947: two years after the end of the second World War, the King (Mihai of Hohenzollern and Romania) has to leave the country, the communism is knocking at the door, and in these uncertain times, two young people are fighting to get their dream become real artists.

Abilene gunmen are bent on terrorizing the town of Blue Valley and massacring its inhabitants. They have been hired by local druggist Henry Turner, who has discovered gold beneath the town and wishes complete possession. The gunmen rob supply wagons, burn houses, kill leading citizens and then the gang leader, Brink Fallon, having acquired Rocky Lane's paper, poses as the new deputy marshal sent to bring order. Then the real Rocky Lane shows up in his usual bad mood, and the tide begins to turn.

Tensions rise as a young man and his family face social issues in an already unstable community. Violence and political injustices elevate; however, with the help of a mentor, he must navigate his way to college and learn a deeper lesson.
