Macario

Composer and pianist Blaz Gaber lives only for his music and does not want to know anything about the outside world, where the war is raging. Upon his arrival from his poorly attended concert, he finds himself in prison for having stars drawn in his notebook by a little boy. A young illegal activist seeks refugee in the school, where the pupils hide his pistol inside the Gaber's piano. A German officer comes with his soldiers to find the hidden illegal, orders the school to be evacuated and takes the piano together with him on a train.

The first days of the Great Patriotic War. Left without command, young Soviet servicemen Viktor, Artem, Stepan and Roman decide to give battle to the advancing fascists, taking up defensive positions in an ancient, dilapidated fortress, which contains a surviving artillery cannon and a lot of ammunition. None of the guys know the real situation - how far is the front, where are our troops, where to go next? But the four heroes are determined and are preparing to fight not for life but to the death with many times superior enemy forces.

A performer re-delivers in real-time an improvised version of a monologue she listens to via an iPod, about an incident involving an invented digital scanning device in an Israeli army checkpoint in Palestine, and related events. She is only visible through her reflection in the camera-person's eyeball (he is also the one who recorded the original monologue). The image is acquired via a lo-fi version of an eye-tracking camera rig, such as is normally used for psychology and market research.

Involuntary Commitment is the story of a family torn apart by the horrors of war. It's a film about coping with loss. It is a character study that reveals the way we as humans respond to painful experiences. When matters get worse at home Monica is faced with some difficult choices and each family member carries their scar in a different manner.
