In the village of Lombos, sulfurous balnear water is springs from the ground, and the handsome womanizer entrepreneur Félix Szombati takes up the cause to make use of it. His plan doesn't even stop him from being put out of business for a year for his previous "machinations". After his release, he sets to work with great ambition on the ambitious project, which will boost the village, but his machinations will also bring him down.

The Bråten family lives on the top floor in a sublet appartment in the suburbs of Oslo. The father, mother and 5 kids all share the space of this 1 room and a kitchen appartment. The father is mostly silent, except for when he screams for thr kids to "Shut Up!" The mother is the one keeping the family together, as the kids keep giving their parents a hard time. 16 year old Maiken suddenly wants to move out, while 14 year old Sverre is caught for car theft. It's never a quiet moment for these 2 parents, all the while the neighbours are shaking their heads, and sigh: "Never anything else but trouble".

Going through a breakup and moving back home with his family, James struggles through a "quarter life crisis" in pursuit of his dream of making a feature film.

As the sisters who raised him have to leave, Henry has to figure out how to live by himself within the city. He finds a job in a lighting shop and claims to "lighten up people's life". His job will bring him to discover friendship and love.
