The horrors of war through the eyes of a real WWII soldier, Sam Byrne was a Wyoming ranch boy who was drafted and went off to war to do his duty, in spite of the fact that he didn't want to "haf'ta kill unless I really haf'ta."

A small team of British commandos are cut off from their comrades following a raid in Normandy.

Follow soldiers Anton Lang and Werner Schmidt from the beginning of the first Courland battle in October 1944 to the capitulation and dramatic escape in May 1945.

During the first 3 days of the Normandy invasion, the 82nd Airborne Division struggled to capture and hold crucial crossing points over the Merderet River. As the days passed, the water turned to blood in a battle without retreat.

In 1945, as Russian forces advance toward Berlin, a German captain encounters refugees fleeing the Red Army. His battle group provides shelter, whilst he forms a bond with a young girl who lost her mother.
