Summary Lakeside follows celebrated sci-fi author Jay Lake for one year. It was meant to be a story about parenting through illness and how he has managed not only to survive but to thrive with stage 4 colon cancer. At the time filming began, Jay had 'no evidence of disease' and was healthier than he had been in four years. Three months into filming, Jay's cancer came back. This film offers a unique experience from both a clinical and a personal level from the day he gets the news to his final great adventure with his daughter in New Zealand.
