La cumbre

Probably the first TV drama that portrayed gay relationship/sex openly and positively on a national television in Japan. It started as 'school reunion' (that's the title). This high school sweethearts couple just married. Then the wife (Y Saito) discovered that her husband (K Nishimura) is a closet homosexual. One night she goes to a gay town in Tokyo to discover his 'another life'. She got confused, got drunk and had sex with a bi-sexual boy (T Yamaguchi), who later would have a relationship with her husband... It's not one of the best TV dramas ever made but good acting (those three and the always good K Oginome) and the theme helped its purposes.

Gamagori Futaro has been poor since the day he was born. As a child his recklessly wasteful and abusive father sunk the family into debt and disappeared, leaving Futaro and his sick mother to fend for themselves. With no money to pay for medical treatment for his ailing mother, she eventually died. After her death Futaro became obsessed with money and willing to do anything for it. Several years pass and Futaro finds himself working at "Mikuni Shipbuilding" where he meets the company president's daughters Midori, who was his former classmate, and her younger sister Akane, who is disabled, and like Futaro, has a scarred face. In a plot to acquire their fathers company, Futaro begins to get close the sisters.

Imagine a place where you literally order and are served your last meal before you reach your proverbial final destination beyond the physical world. That place is Here. A dramatic, slice of life, sci-fi web series focused on the interactions between an eclectic waitstaff in purgatory tasked with providing each patron passing through with a positive experience and pleasant sendoff. 'Here' is a place where a job is expected to last for an eternity - until the world and people its employees know begin to fall apart.

She was the mother-in-law of famous author Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury and grandma of legendary poet Sukumar Ray.
