L'anonima Roylott

In 1926 Vida a simple, young Slovenien woman leaves fascist Italy because of poverty. She emigrates as a wet nurse to Alexandria in Egypt to support her family. Her poor peasant existences changes to a life in luxury.

Lavinia White and her young brother Chad are shunned by the townspeople of Twin Wells because their father Tom is serving the last part of a long prison sentence for robbing the Rysen Company of $100,000. Their only friends are Doc Meadowlark and Pat Garrett, who is employed by the Rysen Transportation Company. When released, Tom is determined to return the money to its rightful owners over the objections of Jim Judd. Judd threatens harm to Chad and forces Lavinia to aid him, under the same threat against Chad, in the stick-up of the stage in which Tom is returning to Twin Wells with the money. Pat arrives and Judd and the girl escape without the money. The money is returned and Tom prepares to settle down and make amends for the past. Judd conspires with Elias Dunkenscold, the Rysen office manager, to steal the money and frame it on Tom. In a chase, Sheriff Wilson is shot but swears Pat in as a deputy before he dies. He has to jail Tom and Lavinia has to keep quiet as the outlaws have kidnapped Chad.

Set in the seemingly desultory environs of suburban Mumbai, a charlatan holy man sits at Raju's tea stall. He spends his days drinking cheap country liquor and hoodwinking the eager, if not innocent, workers and housewives who come to him seeking advice. The neighbourhood he counsels is tied together in a complex web of sexual betrayal, unfulfilled desire and blind faith in the holy man's healing powers. One day, however, the holy man begins losing his eyesight. The doctors inform him the problem is due to his alcoholism, but he knows better. For his imminent blindness brings with it a new "vision" - cataclysmic nightmares, hallucinations and, ultimately, the truth. Blessed by a newfound God-given gift, the holy man decides to speak sooth to those who come his way. But are ordinary mortals willing to confront the truth?

An ex-military sniper who was honorably discharged accepts a mission that will indefinitely change her life in the attempts to make ends meet. It is a quiet character study of when your life's purpose is stripped away, but you still pursue it, only to realize that it could kill you.
