A bus arrives at the bus stop, from which Egor gets off. The locals obviously do not expect him to appear and are not happy to meet him. Egor was serving time in prison for murder. The district police officer temporarily places the guest at Baba Klava's, where he will help with the housework as payment. Ex-wife Anna got married during this time, and son Lyoshka considers her new husband Viktor to be a father. Viktor is the main businessman of the village, who sets his own rules. He tries to force Egor to leave, but the district police officer stops the massacre organized by Viktor. Friendly neighbors also advise the newcomer to leave, but Egor refuses. He needs to find the real culprit who sent him to prison. The precinct officer's sister Katya also believes in his innocence and tries to convince her brother that he was wrong. To get rid of Egor, someone sets a fire.

The neighbors are trying to put out the fire in which Egor almost died. The district police officer begins to believe in Egor's innocence and tries to figure out who set the fire. At the same time, Viktor is trying to put pressure on the district police officer. Katya continues to insist that Egor is not to blame, and the real murderer committed the arson. Egor is trying to get a job, but almost everyone in the village works for Viktor. Katya persuades her father to take Egor to work at the school and provide him with housing. Vsevolod Sergeevich hires Egor, but asks him not to advertise it in the village. Egor tries to talk to Raisa and find out why she lied at the trial. Raisa contacts someone on the phone, informs them that Egor can find out the truth, and makes an appointment. Egor decides to follow Raisa, but gets hit on the head.

Egor regains consciousness after the blow and runs away with the filmed compromising material. Andrey and Leonid are chasing him. After the fight, Egor returns to Raisa to find out the truth that she is hiding. Raisa says that she really did not see who killed Gennady. Andrey returns and forcibly takes Egor to his campsite. Meanwhile, Leonid gets a metal detector to find a phone with compromising evidence. The district police officer continues to investigate the arson. Boris Nikolaevich constantly reminds Leonid that he is nobody in their family. Leonid breaks down and wants to take out his anger on Egor. Egor is saved from Andrey and Leonid by a friend, to whom Lyuba tells who took Egor away. Leonid asks Viktor for help.

A friend persuades Egor to leave, start his own business, but he decides to stay and bring everyone to the surface. Vitya meets with Egor under the pretext of a conversation and sets him up: everything looks as if Egor stole money from the cash register in the store. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Leonid erases the dirt from Egor's phone. The district police officer has no choice but to open a case of theft. Katya, having learned about what happened, tries to convince her brother that it is a lie. The locals are also divided into two camps: someone believes that Egor is a thief, and someone does not. The district police officer tries to persuade Viktor to drop the charges, but he says that Egor has learned something important. The district police officer finds out that there was no money in the cash register, and arrests Anna's mother for perjury. As a result, precinct officer Sergey releases Egor, destroying the documents. Egor decides to leave, but after receiving a stone in the back from his son, he stays.

Egor continues to develop his business. Sergey finds out that Lena committed the arson out of revenge for Gena. Egor negotiates with Lyuba about the supply of fish and finds bullet holes in Genka's car.

Yokhan, a friend of Egor, finds a bandit who, according to Lyuba, was involved in the showdown after which Gennady was killed. Egor and a friend turn to a local authority with a request to find out from Pasha everything related to the shooting, and then to the murder of Gena. Viktor is trying to get his competitors drunk by undermining the work. Egor still manages to talk to Pasha, but everything is not going according to plan. But Pasha tells us what happened during the meeting, and that his brother Misha was at the meeting instead of him. Having received a good catch, the workers get a good amount and happily go on a binge. Pasha has been informed of a place where he can meet his brother Misha, and he and Egor are going to the pier.

Nikita brought Sergey the found briefcase with drugs. Egor and Pasha continue to find out whether Misha was at the meeting or not. It turns out that Sergey was trying to sell drugs. Sergey realizes that he will soon be discovered, and persuades Raisa to leave far away. Back in the village, Egor finds out what the workers did to the artel. Egor turns to Sergey for help to find the one who was at the meeting last night. Pasha, not knowing that Lyoshka is Egor's son, kidnaps the child to put pressure on Viktor. Anna leaves Viktor and reconciles with Egor. Viktor, upon learning about this, takes a gun, but Leonid stops him and together they agree to pin down the precinct officer. Egor persuades Anna not to hide their relationship, but she is afraid. Sergey goes on a crime, trying to get rid of Nikita. But Viktor saves him and comes to talk to the district police officer.

Viktor removes dirt on Sergey. Gypsies with guns settle at the campsite. Raisa quits and breaks off her relationship with Leonid. Egor comes to Sergey to tell him about his suspicions, but Sergey arrests him for attacking Viktor. At the same time, Pasha comes to the village to find out what Egor has learned. Viktor tells Sergey that his wife has a lover. Egor arranges an escape from custody and asks Yokhan to bring Pasha to the meeting. Yokhan tries to put the police on the wrong track, but he himself is taken to the police station. Pasha arrives, and Egor shares his suspicions. To test the guess, they go to the cemetery. It turns out that instead of Gennady, Mishka, Pasha's brother, was buried.

But the business failed, and he remained in debt to the Gypsies. To stay alive, Gennady promised to pay them with drugs. Viktor confesses that he has the drugs. Pasha wants to kill Gennady, but Egor stands up for him.

Gennady is brought to the square in the village and forced to tell the whole truth to people. Pasha takes his brother's corpse, and meanwhile the people decide to give Gennady to Pasha or not to give him back. No one had the courage to apologize to Egor. Anna tries to justify herself to Egor. Gennady is put under arrest until a decision is made. Gennady asks Viktor to help, and he asks not to tell anyone that he has the drugs. Raisa is trying to make peace with Sergey. Before the meeting, the people decide what to do. Nikita tells the meeting that he gave Sergey the drugs, but they don't believe him. Pavel organizes funerals, gathers a brigade and buys weapons.

Viktor makes out the found drugs and hands them over to the administration. Meanwhile, Pasha is holding his brother's funeral. Egor tries to negotiate with Pasha to take only drugs, but he intends to take Gennady as well. The gypsies come to Polina, Gennady's mother. They demand a drug case from her and intimidate her. German Mikhailovich is arrested, accused of corrupt activities. Anna tries to get back to Viktor, but he throws her out. Egor helps Gennady escape and wants to turn him in to the police. But the gypsies kidnap Gennady.

Egor is found unconscious. He thinks that Gennady was kidnapped by Pasha's men. Everyone decided that the bandits attack was canceled, and they dispersed. At this time, Pasha and his bandits arrive in the village and arrange a shooting. Gypsies with Gennady come to the administration for drugs, but they are not there. Egor goes out to negotiate with Pasha, and explains that Gennady is not there. Pasha gives an hour to find him. The gypsies take the drugs, Egor tries to stop them. A shootout ensues at the school, Egor intercepts the case, but the gypsies set fire to the school, where the children closed in the gym. All the locals rush to save the children.
