In one of his daily wanderings, Ghassem Siah, a young jobless guy who leads a street life, runs into a young American tourist girl who is spending her last day in Tehran. Without understanding each other's words, they strike up a friendship and the girl accepts to sleep with him. But Ghassem doesn't have a place of his own and the girl is to depart by the next morning. Together they set off on the glistening yet hostile streets of modernizing Tehran of the 70s, in a futile search of a corner of intimacy, while time is ticking away....

The film chronicles the diagnosis and treatment of a breast cancer survivor, interspersed with personal tales from famous international celebrities who are also survivors, or affected closely by cancer.

When battered prize-fighter Lee Burke is taken to the West Side hospital, nurse Katherine MacDonald leaves her romantically-inclined patient, wealthy attorney John Dodge to take care of Burke. She discovers that Burke was doped by his handler, Churchill, on instructions from gambler Joe Largo so the latter can win a $5000 bet from Burke's manager Slice Cavanaugh. Largo orders henchman Larry Carson to bump off Churchill to keep him from talking. Katherine talks Burke into quitting the ring and Dodge belittles the ex-boxer by getting him a job as a bellhop. Cavanaugh, desperate for money, calls Burke yellow and when Burke happens upon the scene where another Largo henchman, Smiley, has killed the manager, Burke is tried for the murder.

Sarju and Laxmi have done everything to educate their son Amar and have lots of hope from him but the but Amar desires to become rich and disowns his parents who then face only sufferings in their life.
