You may NEVER under any circumstances change it or go against the will of your power--and thus must be loyal to it. The caste system rules all and also determines your fate. (Of course besides mere humans on the bottom rung--they don't even rank truthfully) Fire is the lowest tier, overtaken by water the second lowest, Ice overtakes water at third lowest, flower is next, and the most powerful on the list (thus the most wealthy in all prospects of their lives) are dark and light fae, forever at war with one another to prove which is better. War is waging between the relationship of the age-old caste system, however... Evangeline gets powers once she moves to the new school and knows how illegal it is to learn another--and disrupt her loyalty to her given element--a fate worse than death if caught.
