The Grand Outrage -- Shadow Big Boss' Identity Revealed
The monster of the week is Hakaida who murders people Big Shadow orders him to. Big Shadow is finally seen as a man wearing a black mask with two horns and, dressed in black clothing and cape.. Akira and the other boy finally have a chat. The other boy is Hiroshi, Akira's older brother. And just as Reiko was Akira's tutor during Professor Gill's lifetime, Misao was Hiroshi's. Professor Gill it seems did not keep his sons together. With the death of Professor Gill and the destruction of the Dark Destruction Corp by Kikaida, they apparently lost their homes and became street people. Kikaida-01 and Kikaida destroy Hakaida, leaving only its head. But Big Shadow builds Hakaida a new body. Hakaida bows to Big Shadow, twice. But will this new found loyalty last?

Devil's Trade!? The Earth Pigs Planetary Scheme
A girl's parents are replaced with pig monsters. When she finds her real parents she and Reiko, Misao, Hiroshi and Akira are captured. When Hakaida plants a bomb to kill all the prisoners Misao tries to get him to free Hiroshi and Akira, reminding him that without the boys The Shadow cannot rebuild Giant Devil Robot. Hakaida just laughs. And leaves them all to die. Once he's gone Reiko breaks through the bars, much to everyone's surprise. Reiko reveals that is not human, like Ichiro and Jiro she is actually an android, but unlike Jiro and Ichiro she cannot transform into a more powerful battle form. She frees the others but stays to defuse the bomb. Akira does not want to leave her. but in the end he does. As 01 deals with the Mad Pig monsters, Reiko has to fight Shadow Men trying to stop her from defusing the bomb. 01 destroys the two Mad Pigs.

The Devil-Spawn Zadam Lunar Base Lift-Off
Big Shadow summons Zadam, "the Devil's Child" to Earth from the Moon. Both Shadow Knight (who resents Big Shadow giving so much of his responsibilities to Hakaida) and Hakaida (who doesn't want another rival) attack the two-headed, four legged Zadam but he zaps them with a burst of energy from one of his twin tridents. They don't try that again. Misao and Hiroshi are invited to dinner. Hiroshi eats like he is starving, which he probably is. When Hakaida interrupts the meal, the sound of Ichiro's trumpet drives him away. Later, Ichiro finds Akira setting under a tree, looking very sad. Misao and Hiroshi's hosts, father and daughter have been kidnapped. When Ichiro tries to rescue them he discovers it was a trap. The android and two humans are rocketed into space, to the moon. Ichiro opens his chest and pulls out to oxygen cylinders so the humans can breath. Later when Hakaida, Shadow Knight and Shadowmen (all robots so they don't need oxygen) attack the rocket containing the two humans takes off for Earth. Ichiro appears to be stranded on the moon. But his motorcycle Double Machine flies from Earth to the moon, sent by his brother Jiro. Ichiro mounts Double Machine and flies back to Earth.

Misao, Hiroshi and Akira (Misao has apparently realized she has to take care of Akira now too ) meet a woman on a cruise ship who is a target of the Shadow. She is ultimately captured. despite 01 destroying Long-Nosed Goblin Flying Squirrel. Ends on a cliff hanger.

The Hidden Land Fierce Battle!! Zadam Hell Trap
Ichiro who requires sunlight to to transform into Kikaida-01, figures out that sunlight is actually Zadam's weakness. The Shadow releases a prisoner but its a trap she has a bomb attached to her body. Ichiro/Kikaida manages to turn the tables on the Shadow and destroy Hell Amphibian the monster from the sea. Then he faces Shadow Knight, the First Executive Officer of Shadow, in their final battle.

Crazy Town -- The Terrible Mermaid Princess Counterattack
Still out of town, on vacation, Ichiro, Misao, Hiroshi and Akira find themselves in a town were the men are being replaced with disguised Shadow Men. The human men are bedazzled and hypnotized by a beautiful woman, who in in reality a hideously ugly monster. She is able to blind Ichoro with a flash of light which fries his visual circuits. She can not hypnotize Misao as her power only works on males. Even Hakaida a male android is affected by her. But when she tries her power on prepubescent Hiroshi and Akira it has no effect. When Ichiro is finally able to transform into Kikaida-01 his visual circuits apparently repair themselves. After 01 defeats Mermaid Princess Ichiro joins Misao, Hiroshi and Akira on the cruise ship back home.

Red Demon -- Blue Demon -- The Ten Billion Volt Terror!
Zadam creates new monsters Raiin + and Raijin -. Ichiro, Hiroshi, Akira and Misao meet a boy scientist Goro and his mother who take them to visit the Narukami Thunder Laboratory, created the boy's later father. The humans have lunch, Ichiro the android doesn't need food. Later the boy's mother falls victim to Raijn + and Raijin - drums the sound of which makes humans slothful. Misao and Hiroshi fall prey to it as well. When Raijin + and Raijin - attempt to blast Kikaida-01 with ten billion volts, enough to fry his systems, Goro boy genius finds a way to save 01 and Akira help him. As 01 battles against the two monsters, Goro works on a cure for their brain altering drums.

Demon? Angel? Bijinda Appears!!
Big Shadow and Zadam come up with a complicated plan to destroy Kikaida 01. First Pollution Catfish is sent to destroy a forest just to cheer up a depressed Big Shadow. Then 01 encounters a female android which taunts him. Then Ichiro encounters a sad young woman. Misao is jealous when she sees Ichiro talking to her (here we ago again a woman in love with a "man" she knows is actually a robot) . Later when the mysterious woman is abducted by Pollution Catfish, 01 comes to her rescue. destroying the monster. When Zadam who is watching everything 01 does on a monitor screen, refers to the woman as "Mari" and has a Shadowman flip a switch. Mari then clutches her chest as if having a heart attack and Ichiro starts to unbutton her blouse, Big Shadow laughs. (Cliffhanger ending, but what is the danger? Why is Big Shadow laughing at Ichiro undoing 3 buttons on a blouse?)

The Touching Android Bijinda Explosive Death
Mari turns out to be Bijinda. Bjinda does not want to do evil things but has no choice. With tears in her eyes Bijinda is forced to carry out Big Shadow's order to kill Hiroshi and AKira but Ichiro saves them. Hakaida appears to wound 01. Bijinda turns on Hakaida. Zadam monitoring all this puts a stop to it.

Zadam tries to have Bjinda disassembled but she escapes. Ink Squid passes out pens loaded with exploding ink. Bijinda destroys more Shadowmen than Kikaida 01 does.

Emergency -- The Gorilla with Child's Tears -- Tears
Bijinda was allowed to escape (without her knowledge) in the previous episode. Hiroshi and Misao are playing at being wrestlers with Akira as the ring announcer. Kikaida 01 fights Big Gorilla'while Mini Gorilla hides. 01 destroys Big Gorilla 'and Mini Gorilla records every move 01 makes. 01 does not perceive the small and passive Mini Gorilla to be a threat. Later, when Bijinda finds Mini Gorilla collecting the parts of Big Gorilla' she helps the little monster to use them to build itself up and she trains it in combat. Not realizing she is creating the monster meant to destroy Kikaida 01. The new Big Gorilla ignoring Bijinda's pleadings to remember their friendship and not harm her friend Kikaida 01 watches helplessly as it rips off one of 01's arms. To save one friend Bijinda is forced to destroy another. 01 tries to thank her but she walks away angry.

Lunatic Bat a monster with a clock in its chest targets humans wearing watches will a beam that turns them violent. And then plans to destroy Binjinda but Ichro/Kikaida 01 comes to her rescue.

Women are attacked by floating kimonos which eventually turn into four Kimono Poison Fang monsters. Mari tries to befriend another child. Misao is jealous of Kikaida 01 and Bijinda's growing friendship.

Mystery of the Fourth Dimension -- Time Travel of Fear
Misao, private detective Hanpei Hattori (from "Jinzo Ningen Kikaida") who always claimed to be descended from legendary Iga ninja Hanzo Hattori , Ichiro and Biinda are sucked into a time travel tunnel. into the past. Hanpei Hattori finds out who his real ancestor was.. Kikaida 01 and Bijinda foil an evil scheme to change the future by introducing the robotic Shadow Ninja Corps (Shadowmen disguised as human ninja) into the past.

The Great Swordsman -- In the Midst of Fog He Came -- Waruda
Big Shadow hires a robot samurai, Waruda to destroy Kikaida 01 but before his new assassin will appear, Hakaida has to clear the streets of dogs. The once mighty "destroyer" reduced to killing dogs. Waruda it seems suffers from cynophobia, the unreasonable fear of dogs. Hakaida who cannot stand having a rival will attempt to use this against Waruda. Waruda tells Bijinda his fear of dogs is because dogs can sense good and evil. they bark in the night at thieves for example. and because he cannot sense who is good or evil (which explains his working for Big Shadow) he is both embarrassed by and afraid of dogs. Who made Waruda is never explained.
Episode 38 • Feb 01, 1974
The Sure-Death Device -- Three-cornered Blood Match!
Waruda and Bjinda start sending each other letters. Waruda wants to learn to be good and Bijinda tries to teach him. The Shadow takes over a post office in order to send forged letters causing loved ones to hate each other, turning friends into enemies. When Hakaida discovers Bijinda and Waruda are exchanging letters he sees it as an opportunity to set a trap and sends 01 a letter claiming to be from Waruda challenging 01 to honorable combat, and a letter to Waruda claiming to be from 01 challenging Waruda to honorable combat. The two honorable warriors fall for it.When Hakaida interferes in their fight Bijinda appears to tell Waruda and 01 they have both been deceived by Hakaida. All three 01, Bijinda and Waruda for the first (and last) time stand united against a common foe, Hakaida, who vanishes in a poof of smoke. Waruda calls a temporary truce with 01 and all three combatants depart. Later, Waruda gives up on his dream of learning to become good from Bijinda which makes Bijinda sad.
Episode 39 • Feb 08, 1974
The Rival Spacemen Come by Flying Saucer
Japan is invaded by a flying saucer and two Spaceman Robots. Only two are scene outside the ship, at least one more most being piloting it. When a child is hurt this angers Waruda who blames the heartless Hakaida and the two try to destroy each other, but they are evenly matched. Bijinda destroys the two Spacemen Robots. Getting away from Hakaida, Waruda wants to fight the saucer. 01 concerned that Waruda may have been destroyed by its bombs calls out for "Waruda". 01 and Bijinda leak arms to create "Blast Laser" (a combination of his "Blast End" and her "Bijinda Laser") to destroy the flying saucer. Waruda who appears safety glares at 01 and Bijinda. He still considers 01 to be his mortal enemy despite 01s attempts to make peace with him and he's hurt that his friend Bijinda would work with his enemy 01. Bijinda for her part wants them all three to be friends and allies.
Episode 40 • Feb 15, 1974
Escape! The Frozen Bijinda Hangs by a Thread
An unusual cold has settled on Japan. Mari gives her winter coat to a couple of children. Then freezers herself in the night. Waruda appears. Misao -who don't know Warua would never harm a child takes a protective stance between the children and Waruda. As if she could do anything against the robot samurai warrior. Waruda ignores her and takes Mari away. He wants to revive her. He opens her up. Big Shadow, Zadam and Hakaida are watching on a monitor. Big Shadow and Hakaida argue over what to do. Big Shadow shoves Hakaida aside and flips the remote pain switch. But Waruda's tinkering has disabled that system inside Mari. Misao is captured along with construction workers who have been replaced with disguised Shadowmen. Ichiro fights the Shadowmen and finds his way to Mari and Waruda. The two step outside to fight. Ichiro becomes Kikaida 01. Waruda is tough he survives "01 Driver", and "01 Cut" (three times" "01 Kick" is deflected by Bijinda, This confuses 01. Bijinda helps Waruda (who weakened himself by placing his heating element inside Mari) to stand. But Waruda's pride wont' let him accept Bijinda's help and he pushes her away. 01 lets Waruda limp away. None of the three are happy. Ichoro rides off on Doublemachine, alone. Mari walks away, alone.
Episode 41 • Feb 22, 1974
Matchless in All the Land -- The Midair Battleship Blast!!
The Shadow launches it new battle ship, an aircraft that flies out of the ocean wind using a giant fan creates tornadoes. Its piloted by Satan. Kikaida 01 and Waruda are fighting each other when they are sucked up and tossed around by the battleship's artificial tornado. Ichiro and Waruda are found unconscious by Hirosi, Akira and a girl selling flowers. The boys take care of Ichiro the girl Waruda. Ichiro recovers first. Later, when Satan attacks the girl, its Ichiro who comes to her aid but she runs to Waruda who confused pushes her aside and attacks Ichiro. Hakaida appears and Bijinda appears to deal with him. It was trick by Satan and Hakaida. With Ichiro distracted by Waruda and Bijinda distracted by Hakaida, Satan is able to kidnap the girl. Kikaida 01 follows the battleship on Doubleamachine and Bijinda on Bijindamachine. Its wind turbine causes them to crash but igniting rockets in their feet they fly into the battleship. Satan flips a switch dropping his prisoners including the girl but 01 uses "01 Net" to save them. When Satan tries to escape Waruda destroys Satan for attacking a child. 01 and Bijinda us their combined skill "Blast Laser" to destroy the battleship. Later, Mari can be seen to be hurt a fact neither 01 nor Wardua seem aware of.

A young man,. Eisuke Toge , who hates robots falls in love with Mari at first sight, not realizing she is actually the android Bijinda.

Eisuke Toge finally accepts that Ichiro/01 and Bijinda are not evil but still doesn't realize that Mari is Bijinda. Until Mari transforms before his eyes and sadly tells him there can be no love between a human and an android.

01 is forced to destroy Waruda, though he tries not to. Mari/Bijinda is saddened by Waruda's demise though she understands 01 had to defend himself.

The Friends of Good Children -- Android Banzai!
Doctor Nobuhiko Komyoji robotics expert who created Kikaida 01 and Kikaida (they consider him their "father" and each other "brothers") returns to Japan from Switzerland where has been living with his biological children, daughter Mitsuko and son Masaru, they are not with him. He is abducted by Hakaida, taken to Shadow HQ and forced to show them how to operate a machine he designed years before. A machine that takes the parts of broken robots, and reassembles them, making them stronger than before. When Kikaida, Kikaida 01 and Bijinda find Shadow HQ. Dr. Koymoji is stuck in a time activated guillotine. Can Dr. Komyoji's "sons" save him? Kikaida, Kikaida 01 and Bijinda have to fight Shadowmen, Hakaida and Zadam who splits himself into two parts to reach Dr. Komyoji. But each time they destroy an enemy the doctor's own machine restores them. Initially 01's Blast End" takes out Blue Zadam, Kikaida's "Denji End" takes out Red Zadam and "Bijinda Laser" takes out Hakaida. But the machine remakes them stronger than before and our heroes end moves no longer work. Both sides come up with a super attack but of course the heroes manage to launch theirs first and a surprise left by Dr. Komyoji takes down the Shadow base killing Big Shadow. And course the doctor is saved. THE END.
