Basta is a film documenting the story of the emotional journey taken by simple men detailing their attempts to reach behind and beyond the Vatican walls in search of help, hope and aid in healing a nation reeling from the effects of the clergy abuse scandal. A decade after starting on a personal journey for justice, one man finds that success isn't always defined by achieving his goal, sometimes, it's defined by the attempt itself. Taking A Chance On God chronicles the extraordinary life and legacy of 85 year old John McNeill, gay Catholic priest, founder of the LGBT spiritual movement, and pioneering voice of gay liberation. Refusing to betray his own conscience, McNeill stood up to the man who became Pope Benedict XVI and would not be silenced. The Film depicts McNeill's remarkable journey: growing up in Buffalo, escaping death as a POW in Nazi Germany, falling in love with his husband, writing groundbreaking books, coming out on national television, calling for compassion and justice during the AIDS crisis, and celebrating the unique spiritual gifts of LGBT people. Theologians, journalists, activists, and LGBT religious figures, including openly gay Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, movingly testify to McNeill's influence and importance.

During the height of political tensions in 1960s Berlin, a little girl was peacefully transferred from East to West Berlin by her family's effort and love. However, after negotiations between the Red Cross and the East German government resulting in her release, her transportation was nearly erased from popular historical record, questioning what we choose to forget and what we remember.

This film is an examination of the life and poetry of the black feminist poet and social voice of Natasha Ria El-Scari. Presented in an 'abstractumentary' or abstract-documentary style, the director juxtaposes intimate interviews, dramatic performances, and archival footage to examine El-Scari's work in context of the African American struggle.
