Summary This is a documentary about my relative, who was Wales' first Hollywood star. His name was Gareth Hughes. He was a silent movie star and was there at the very beginnings of Hollywood. He was friends with the likes of Hedda Hopper, who incidentally dedicated one of her last columns to him in the Los Angeles Times in 1963. Not only did he become the toast of Hollywood and earned as much as $2000 a week. He gives it all up and turned his back on acting. He then became a missionary to the Paiute People in place called Pyramid Lake Nevada. Dedicating 14 years of his life to serving people that nobody else at the time, could be bothered with. This is just a brief outline of this amazing man, who I have grown up knowing about but not understanding. But after making the documentary I have began to just understand Gareth Hughes.
