If You Wish Upon Me

Set in the 70's during the darkest hours of Philippine History, we follow the story of two young NPA warriors who find themselves entangled in a web of frustration, despair and victory as they fight not only for democracy but also their love for each other.

Nick, is a young Scottish soccer player living in the big city. He meets Karen, and the two fall in love and move in together. Soon after, Nick exhibits signs of serious illness. As his body slowly succumbs to multiple sclerosis, he experiences a wide sweep of jagged emotions, and in the process gives himself and those who love him the strength to carry on.

In a small coal-mining village, Bob Fenwick leads a strike over safety standards at the local colliery. Meanwhile, his son David goes off to university with the hope one day to return to help the miners with their working conditions.

'Kaal Ratri' is the story of a cursed night on which a poor man's daughter Savitri is raped by local youths including the son of the school principal. The principal rescued the girl from his school, took her to the police and then got her admitted in the hospital. When Satya Bhushan finds out that his son is one of the culprits he gets a serious heart attack and is hospitalized. When he regains consciousness he tries to get the culprits punished. He keeps fighting despite the threats of the politician and his wife's requests. But all his efforts prove to be futile when the victim withdraws the case and false medical reports are procured which prove that she was not raped. He resigns from the post of the principal after he is discharged from the hospital.

"Nothing changes." These are the last words of Jin-Soo, a young man suffering from brutal bullying at school, before he takes the fatal step that sets off a rather unpredictable sequence of events in this startlingly honest author's film.
