Harold R. Peat tries to enlist in the United States army so that he may fight in World War I but is rejected by the recruiting officer. He is despondent until he and his friend, Old Bill, concoct a scheme whereby they are both accepted. After a stint in training camp, Harry bids his sweetheart Mary goodbye and accompanies Bill to France. Following several adventures at the front, Bill is killed and Harold, in trying to save a load of ammunition, is wounded. Harold spends some time in a French hospital, after which Mary comes to France to bring her heroic private home.

The feature documentary Return to a Burning House brings the dramatic story of the Slovak-Palestinian Jewish Parachuter and the heroine of the Slovak National Uprising Haviva Reick, a journey on her footsteps in Slovakia, Israel and England, her inner monologue and voices of contemporary women soldiers. The film is part of a bigger cross-media project with the aim to bring back to Europe the legacy of Haviva Reick. The main organizer, Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, together with the filmmakers prepared also a small comic book, screenings around Slovakia and Europe and an international conference and a conference almanac.

Annita 'Laila' Malavasi was an Italian partisan during the Second World War and one of the few female commanders in the resistance. She spent over a year in the Apennines, fighting against the German occupation. At the same time, she had to assert herself in the male-dominated Italian society. This film is a portrait of Laila and two of her comrades, Gina 'Sonia' Moncigoli and Pierina 'Iva' Bonilauri. It chronicles their experiences as they discuss the Resistenza and what it meant to them and many other women. This is a story of emancipation before and after Italy's liberation from fascism.
