How Do You Raise A Black Child

Around a campfire in the Ngäbere language, Major Francisco Rodríguez tells the Ngäbe-Buglé community of La Casona the mythical story of "Los gigantes". His words merge with the recreation of the story, starring three women from different generations and some other people from that indigenous community, which inhabits the border territory between Costa Rica and Panama.

Robinson is shipwrecked off the coast of the extreme south of Spain. After a tremendous struggle in the stormy waters, he manages to reach the safety of the shore and save his life. He is an anonymous exile in a foreign land, just like so many other thousand of black Africans. Robinson manages to find some work in one of the many large greenhouses that grow fruit and vegetables along the coast of Almeria, but his condition as an illegal immigrant is precarious and he decides to move further inland. Robinson's mind is troubled with interior voices, spirits that control and confound him. In order to free himself from them, he must fulfill a mission: to kill a man.

West Germany, 1982: Hubertus and Sebastian are fighting for their future against their fathers. Their unconditional love for Punk Princess Debbie and the raw power of Alternative Rockabilly Music are the only statements of freedom in this little nowhere town. Everything else around them is boundaries and pressure. But they decide to run and live their truth. This film has a big cast of great young actors, intense emotions, and an original soundtrack by German rockabilly bands.

There are five of them: Maria, Eleni, Giorgos and Yannis. They are around fifteen years old and so far everything has gone wrong. They are all kids from institutions. Everything, except for their friendship. So, when the time comes that Eleni wants to track down her mother at all costs, they all set off on the journey together. In search of their personal past they will rediscover "the distant past of the world". So these unlucky creatures will end up becoming the favorites of gods, the ones who will find, through the power of friendship, the road that leads to beauty.

When Joe Bigelow, a rich youth with companions of questionable character, is arrested for reckless driving, his lawyer and supposed friend pleads to the judge on behalf of Joe's "poor old mother" not to send him to jail. As Joe has no living mother, the lawyer convinces him to obtain one at an old ladies' home. He finds a kindly spinster, Cynthia Wilson, who is happy that Joe wants to "adopt" her as a mother. Joe is not sent to jail, and soon he develops a real fondness for Cynthia, while becoming romantically involved with Mary Somerset, the young woman in charge of the old ladies' home. When the lawyer and his girl friend, Lola Butler, scheme to get Joe's money by claiming that Joe and Lola got engaged, Cynthia, to save Joe from marrying Lola, confesses to the judge that she is not really Joe's mother, and he is sent to jail for thirty days. After Joe is paroled, he refuses to marry Lola. She pulls a gun on him, but during their altercation, Cynthia shoots Lola. In court, both Cynthia and Joe attempt to sacrifice themselves for the other; however, Cynthia is acquitted and Joe is reunited with Mary.
