Gordon Buchanan travels to Norway and Austria to search for animals that live in snowy conditions and have adapted to survive in cold weather. He also takes a look at the lives of animals associated with Christmas.

Two young Afar girls, Fatuma, 10, and Asya, 13, show us their daily life in two different context of the Afar Region in Ethiopia. Both of them face hard challenges: finding an alternative to the mandatory traditional marriage for Fatuma, and the conflict with the Issa for Asya.
