Hand Over Hunger

Summary Hunger is a growing issue in Alberta as food bank usage in March of 2011 was 75% higher than it was in 2008, most of these users being children. Many people who are your neighbours, friends, teachers, and even family members are the users of food banks; hunger is a lot closer to us more than we think. SIFE NAIT is tackling this issue by joining Let's Can Hunger, a challenge sponsored by Campbell's, to raise awareness, find solutions to urgent hunger relief and eradicate the cycle of hunger through long term empowerment and solutions. We created this video to raise awareness for the growing concern of hunger in our country and in turn hope that viewers will help support their communities eliminate hunger. With this, SIFE NAIT is working on a sustainable solution with The Farm Next Door, a social enterprise that is developing a product that will help low-income earners, in the greater Edmonton area, to grow their own fresh produce and to supplement their income by selling excess produce. The Farm Next Door will provide a cost-effective, healthy system for people to feed themselves and increase their income. We ask you to view our hunger video and share it with all of your friends and family -- we aspire to increase awareness and find long term solutions not only for Edmonton but all of Canada and we need your support. Thank you for helping with our hunger campaign and please have your friends and family like our page, watch the video, and please give your feedback on our wall. View more details
