Following five family wineries, an amateur home winemaker and all-female picking crew, 'Harvest' documents the 2011 wine-grape harvest in Northern California, revealing the blood, sweat and tears that go into every bottle of wine. There is no swirling, no sniffing, no sipping or quaffing. This is all about the back-breaking manual labor and night picks at 2 a.m. with only headlamps. Along the way we meet the first migrant worker to own his own winery and the women pickers share their border-crossing stories. It all leads up to untimely October rains that wreak havoc and create what many old-timers call 'the worst harvest' in their lifetimes. 'Harvest' is a rare, intimate glimpse of the vineyards that has never before been captured on film.

In its infancy in the 1960s, Freedom Incorporated had a reputation of shaking up the system, busting up white-controlled political machines in the black community, and fighting for public accommodations. At the height of power in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Freedom helped many African Americans get their first taste of politics. Ambitious fledgling politicians benefited from the organization's grassroots and street-level tactics in getting African Americans involved in the political process. This documentary will give viewers an understanding of the obstacles Freedom faced to gain equal rights in Kansas City.
