The story is set in a fictional Germany and centers around the outbreak of bio-mechanical creatures named "Demoniacs", who rise from corpses and attack people mindlessly. All the while, a number of human-turned-Demoniacs appear. Some use their powers for good whilst others for evil. One will rise above all other Demoniacs to become the "Blassreiter".

Following Cinque's wild adventure in the Flonyard - an alternate world where its inhabitants look like humans but with animal ears - he is summoned back once again. However, this time he is joined with childhood friend Rebecca and cousin Nanami to become Galette's Hero as the war wages on the battlefield and in desperate need for an end to the fighting..."

It is the year 2030, and the stage is the capital of Japan, Chou-Tokyo. Through "Buddyfight", humans have started cultural interactions with residents from other worlds called "Affinity Dimensions". Buddyfight is a game with selected humans as the "Buddyfighter", and residents from the other world as the partner (known as "Buddy Monster"). These battles have high significance and sometimes it is even used to decide the fate of a nation, and naturally there are those who seek to use the Buddy Monsters for evil purposes.

The youth of Tatsumiya Island believed that they had ordinary lives... until the advent of the Festum, extraterrestrial intelligent life forms intent on assimilating all humans. Abruptly, their once peaceful island transforms into a high-tech military fortress to counter-attack the hostile aliens. Their shock intensifies when they learn that only they can pilot the Fafner, a class of humanoid-type robots that represent the final and only weapon against the Festums and their divine powers.

Hime, a seemingly normal girl, has her life forever changed when she witnesses the birth of an antibody (a type of mecha) and becomes its pilot. A new life full of danger, excitement, and intrigue awaits. But is that what she wants?

Nozomi Yumehara, a regular middle school student, finds a magical book called the Dream Collet in the library and meets Coco, a creature from the Palmier Kingdom. Nozomi decides to help restore Coco's world, which has been destroyed by an organization called Nightmare, by completing the Dream Collet and finding the 55 Pinkies to make any wish come true. By making her decision to help Coco, she proves she has the heart to be a Pretty Cure and is given her Pinky Catch from a pink butterfly letting her transform into Cure Dream. Meanwhile, the Nightmares are fighting the cures to steal the Dream Collet and defeat Pretty Cure. To help, she must choose a team of four other students to be Pretty Cure so that she may help protect the Dream Collet and save Nuts from his entrapment within. Together with Cure Rouge, Cure Lemonade, Cure Mint and Cure Aqua, they form the Pretty Cure Team.
