This movie is made for middle-aged women and also for those who wanted to give up their life. Under the existing traditional collective beliefs, most women tend to make more sacrifices and support others. Even after they go into the society, they would choose to give up their own talents, competence, and dreams. Usually, they suddenly realize that they want to make changes when experiencing a large accident of fate or when they go into middle age. However, at this moment, they need more support to take the first step as they have to face internal and external fears. The original intention to make this film was to not only illustrate middle-aged women, a group that has rarely been mentioned in mainstream media but also encourage those who are facing the darkness in life, perhaps through difficult challenges such as triathlon to train their bodies and minds, or, with the warm care from friends, search for forgotten passions or newly developed visions to create more possibilities in life! "Fabulous 40s " is about three women's deal regarding a triathlon challenge. Although the story is realistic, it is also pure and simple. This movie is not a traditional inspiring sports movie at all. The director combined the exquisite and sophisticated visual style and tried to use the music more boldly, creating a poetic rhythm, to tell the story of the women's internal and external contradictions and emotional interactions when they were in their 40s.
