Portsmouth, Ohio is a town rocked by the opioid epidemic. One organization fighting to provide community and connection is the Portsmouth Stealth semi-pro football team. Recovering addicts, returning citizens, owners, coaches and players come together to share the spirit of football. In this film we follow the team through their 2018 seasons. Several characters in particular stand out: Jojo Parker was a star running back at Portsmouth High School, one who drew attention from Division 1 schools. Then his life spiraled downward; he became addicted to Oxy and lived in the worst section of town. When Jojo finally entered recovery, he rediscovered his joy for football in semi-pro; he started the Stealth in 2013. Emily Owens and her husband Matt joined the team during a difficult time in their lives. Matt plays and encourages players who struggle with life issues. Emily, a nurse, became team trainer, and invested so much into the team she became co-owner. Corey Carver's mother was a 14 year old addict when she gave birth to him. He was raised by grandparents until they were arrested for dealing. He is nineteen, and finding his emotional bearings as he becomes a leader of the team. Tim 'Aries' Green joined the Stealth after seven years in prison. He fights to become a team leader even as he fights concussions and seizures that knock him out of games. Like the town, the team struggles to overcome obstacles throughout the season and create a scrappy family.
