The hard-hitting intellectual rhetorician, poet, essayist and author Georg Johannesen (1931-2005) died in 2005 during a trip to Egypt. Behind him was a number of poetry collections, non-fiction books and novels that are both provocative and eye-opening. While the content of Johannesen's texts is probably the important thing, he was never afraid to challenge the form, and especially to reveal the language's obscuring and distortion of reality. The distinction between poetry and reality was to be abolished, but also illuminated. As a novelist, Johannesen also stood in opposition to the established, and especially to the norms of society and post-war social democracy. Johannesen's inspirations came from both the Bible and Bertolt Brecht. According to Johannesen, his audience could be divided into two: those who agreed with him, and those who had not understood him. In this documentary, we get a little closer to Georg Johannesen.
