Stop Motion Animation

Stop motion animation is a technique in which physical objects or puppets are manipulated and photographed one frame at a time to create the illusion of movement when played back at a regular speed. This process involves posing and photographing the objects, then moving them slightly and capturing another frame, and so on. When these frames are played in sequence, they create the illusion of fluid motion.

RockFest 1997 was held at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth Tx. This was the first event ever at the speedway. Bands at the event were some of the top acts of the mid-90s. Band Line-up: The Nixon's, Sugar Ray, Third Eye Blind, Matchbox 20, Souls, Soak, Jewel, The Wallflowers, Collective Soul, Counting Crows, No Doubt, Bush. Estimated numbers for the festival are between 200,000 - 350,000. Gates opened around 10am, and Bush ended the night some time around midnight.

3. National Barn Dance

Made at the time when the National Barn Dance program, on radio station WLS (for World's Largest Store and owned by Sears & Roebuck) in Chicago, was as big on a national scale listening audience as "The Grand Ole Opry" out of Nashville. The film highlights the leading acts then performing on the program; comedian Pat Buttram (Pat Buttram), announcer Joe Kelly (Joe Kelly),(before his Quiz Kids stint), Lulubelle & Scotty (Scotty Wiseman and wife Myrtle Wiseman)), the Dinning Sisters trio, Arkie the Arkansas Wood Chooper (Luther W. Ossenbrink) and the Hoosier Hot Shots quartet, whose musical abilities and creativity were vastly underrated. The piffle of a story begins in the early days of radio (Calvin Coolidge was President) but otherwise seems to take place in 1944, which made things easier on the Art and Set directors. Agent John Berke (Charles Quigley) thinks advertising executive Mitcham (Robert Benchley) wants to put together a program of hillbilly performers---a term used until later years when Nashville went uptown and changed it to Country & Western---and hies himself down to a country town where Lulubelle (Myrtle Wiseman) & Scotty (Scott Wiseman) hold a barn dance in their barn every Saturday night featuring themselves and their farm hands, although it is not quite clear just what chores the Dinning Sisters perform. He signs all hands to a contract, brings them to Chicago and learns that Mitcham has no intentions of putting together such a program to be sponsored by the Garvey Soup Company owned by the Garveys (Charles Dingle and Mabel Paige). A bit of plot contrivance---a small bit--- changes all of that, and the National Barn Dance is born.

Tally Green, Cornwall's worst cleaner, is living in a van and making ends meet. When she gets a job at an empty cliff-top house, she is drawn to the piano and moves in, beginning to write music inspired by its poetic owner and recording it on an old 4-track machine. When jaded corporate lawyer Leo arrives in the area, her free spirit helps him evaluate his life choices and they grow closer. After a stormy night and a misjudged offer of help, the couple argue and Leo challenges Tally on why she's hiding her talent. As they part ways, Tally gives him the only tape of the album she's made. Back in London, Leo quits his job to become a writer, meanwhile Tally builds herself up to doing her first small gig in years. When a radio DJ discovers the tape, it's clear that Tally isn't going to stay hidden for much longer.
