The Real Frontline is a documentary series that tells the real stories of individual people touched by the war in Ukraine. The series features Ukrainian volunteer soldiers, civilians, civilian rescuers, foreign fighters and people giving aid to those in need. Almost all of the video material is filmed by the people in the series on their own mobile phones. The participants have been contacted directly after hundreds of attempts on social media. Some of the participants have disappeared during the project and have not been contacted again. The series' video material is authentic, and for example, two Finnish volunteer fighters are wounded in the filmed videos.
The first part of the series tells the story of an export manager who volunteered to go to war without any experience. He became the commander of a drone team. Igor was wounded at the very beginning of the war and during his sick leave he proposed to his fiancée. The documentary also explores the feelings of the family when the father is at war. The section also shows the drone team in action.
EP2 There are tens of thousands of foreign fighters in Ukraine. In this episode, we tell the stories of three Foreign fighters.
